Both Ends of the Book explores single issues and sometimes single words from a First Century viewpoint with the goal of enabling those willing, to follow the pattern given by our Messiah Yeshua (aka Jesus) in the way he lived.  

John has recorded for us a summary of this in First John which states “whoever says he remains in him (referring to Jesus) ought himself also to walk just like he walked.” (1 John 2:6).  We are learning to be imitators of our Master who are learning to live like he lived. Just like Paul who said  “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.”  (1 Cor 11:1)
 

We generally hold a Western view of "heart" as being very emotionally based. As in "He gave it his whole heart."

The Hebrew Scriptures describe "heart' very differently which may be summed up as "your mind, will and emotions revealed through what you do."

When people try to bring the good news of Messiah, the content seems to find a place ahead of communicating that Truth.  James 1:19 sets the standard saying "So that, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath."

Communicating the Bible as Truth comes from how people feel, or who has the best  arguments. This can lead to frustration, hurt feelings, lost opportunity, arguing and a derailed attempt. 

Paul states clearly that the key ingredient in communicating truth is not logical arguments or a passionate delivery, but directing of the truth to a conscience. 2 Cor. 4:2
